WHAT WE COVER

Please reach us at msjodywilliams@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

When I was in trouble as a child, like most abused children, I didn't think I was in any trouble.  So expecting a child to have the knowledge they're even in trouble can be the first hurdle a social worker needs to overcome in order to provide help to those who most need it.  I'll go over "signs" children in trouble most often exhibit even if they don't realize they're in trouble, or seem to want help.  Remember, to the thinking of a child, they are trying to be "loyal" to the family.  So I'll be covering signs there's a problem even if the child is thinking everything is "normal".

In NLP, the first stage to making a connection to another person is to build rapport.  When dealing with someone who is being abused in any way, they're not going to open up to you until you've first established trust.  To build trust, one has to first create rapport.  I'll go over real world ways people were able to break through to me, and I've used to get other survivors to open up to me, because it all starts with trusting you can help.  Remember, most victims in the middle of being victimized think there's no help available.  You have to paint a picture in their mind help is available and what it looks like in order for them to trust you with what's wrong.

Child abuse can take many forms, just as sex trafficking can.  You can't help identify if someone is being sex trafficked unless you understand the many ways it's done to children, and what it looks like within family systems.  So I go over the many different types of systems in the sex industry as well as different sex trafficking systems with you.
