I've lectured at UCLA many times. I've spoken to students in human sexuality classes, addictions studies, and at trade shows, conventions, expo's, and churches. If you think I'd be a good person to come talk about any of the subjects I know about, from "spiritual awakenings", to sex trafficking, domestic violence, to even how to get laws passed or stopped, I've spoken at all kinds of events. I've spoken on countless morning shows, city/county meetings, and anywhere I could talk to a group of people when I was trying to get a law passed, or block a law from being passed.
This has included the Adult Performers Artists Guild, two documentaries on my life, one film of my life, Oprah, Donahue, four Sally Jesse Raphael shows, four Jerry Springer's, four Geraldo's, Good Morning America, Inside Edition, 20/20, 60 Minutes, Michael Jackson's radio show, Gloria Allred's radio show, countless morning drive radio shows, small talk shows I can't remember now, and I produced a cable TV show out of Santa Monica, a weekly radio show on KFRB Radio, and many podcasts. I've also done a lot of newspaper and magazine interviews.
Prior to 1970, when people thought stories of the Italian mob was "urban myth", our legal system wasn't equipped to prosecute them, and most people didn't understand how they operated, let alone if they really existed back then.

Prior to 1970, when people thought stories of the Italian mob was "urban myth", our legal system wasn't equipped to prosecute them, and most people didn't understand how they operated, let alone if they really existed back then.
The RICO Act changed all of this. Prior to the Trafficking Act passing in 2000, the only laws we had was the Mann Act and the pimping /prostitution laws. The pimping law was basically "receipt of earnings from a prostitute. "
So when Linda Lovelace tried to say she had been forced at gunpoint and beaten to make her perform in "Deep Throat", there wasn't really a law under which anyone could be prosecuted at that time. Nor did the average person understand why she couldn't just call 911 if she didn't want to do it.
So in 19965, the Hawaiian prosecutors' office wanted to get a conviction against a man who had been trafficking women up and down the coast and into Hawaii. But this was an articulate white man who seemed quite charming, so the DA was concerned the jury wouldn't understand how he could do this to women, and terrorize them all without using a gun.
They asked me to come and prepare a report on a video that had been made of her by the pimp, and how he could be operating this trafficking operation. I did and the guy was so scared of how the jury would react once I got done with them, he took a plea bargain on the spot.
They had me certified as an expert witness in "pimp brainwashing" in order the DA's office could pay for my travel expenses. They explained to me how I qualify as an expert witness in court cases.
Since the Trafficking Act has passed, the problem is the prosecutors are dealing with juries who think of pimps like Bishop Don Juan, who is all over social media. However, pimps like him died out in the 80's. Most victims today of sex trafficking don't self identify as a "trafficking victim". In Oprah's interview with a man who was groomed by Michael Jackson, he says he was "in a romance" with the man. He didn't identify as a "victim" Until years out of the situation.
I have warned every big case since 2000 trying to get a sex trafficking conviction they are going to lose because they aren't helping the jury to how this person(s) is being "trafficked" and I have offered to either come talk to the court, or prepare an Amicus Curie brief so that they can understand how these people were not just performing prostitution, but in fact "trafficked".
For whatever reason, these prosecutors refused my help - and they lost on the trafficking charges. Don't make that mistake. If you want to be SURE to get the message across, let's talk.
Yes expert witnesses get witness fees, but in the five cases I testified at, and we got a plea deal, in those cases, I only covered my expenses. Don't risk our case - it's hard for people to understand these cases so let me help you.
